Most material about Vanuatu citizenship is written for no one in particular, which means it never addresses the two things an Australian reader actually needs to know: that the passport does not open Australia, and that what happens to your Australian citizenship is decided by Australian law rather than by anything Vanuatu does. The number that gets misquoted

The figure used throughout this site is 88 destinations, combining visa-free entry with visa on arrival and including partially recognised territories. Totals above a hundred generally include the forty-odd countries issuing electronic visas — which are applications with fees — or else predate 2023. The European Union suspended visa-free access on 4 February 2023 and made it permanent through Regulation (EU) 2025/11 of 19 December 2024, applying from 3 February 2025; the United Kingdom made Vanuatu a visa national country on 19 July 2023. A great deal of published material has never caught up.

What is published here

The destination list with permitted stays and the basis of admission for each entry. Contribution tiers as set by regulation, with the due diligence fee shown separately because it behaves differently from the contribution. Document requirements arranged by which of them actually determines a timetable. And a plain statement of what the programme does not provide, which is usually handled elsewhere by silence.

Where we stop

Where the Citizenship Office publishes a figure, it is used and attributed. Where sources conflict, the structure is described and the numbers are left out rather than invented — the Capital Investment Immigration Plan is the clearest instance. No case studies, client names, success rates or firm history appear on this site, because a reader cannot verify any of them and an unverifiable claim is worth less than an acknowledged gap.

Who should read it

Anyone in Australia weighing a second citizenship who would rather have the measurement than the marketing, including people who will conclude, correctly, that this document adds little to an Australian passport for travel. Knowing that before paying is the point of publishing it.
